Easyalgo (Easy Algo, www.easyalgo.com) uses stolen source code at their products EAUpload and creates clones (EAFlashUpload)

In the end of 2009 our company received several e-mail with the similar content: “We noticed similarities between PowUpload, MultiPowUpload and products of EasyAlgo company (www.easyalgo.com) EAUpload and EAFlashUpload. Are you engaged in multi branding?

Official clarification of our company

In fact we were really shocked when we first learnt about the company www.easyalgo.com. During October and November 2009 we were able to make everything clear about this issue.
No, we are not engaged in multi branding and we have not made the products EAUpload and EAFlashUpload. Though we have learnt a lot about www.easyalgo.com.

Easyalgo(www.easyalgo.com) it is Gregory Pancov. The web site appeared in 2007 and in the same year www.easyalgo.com offers EAUpload and in 2009 EAFlashUpload for sale.

Gregory Pancov had been working in Element-IT since 2005 as a search engines optimizator and a marketing specialist. He never worked as a programmer in our company. In October 2009 Gregory Pancov left for personal reason.
After a month from his leaving when our company IP address for internet access was changed and we received first e-mail, we could reach the web site Easyalgo www.easyalgo.com and found products EAUpload, EAFlashUpload.
When Gregory Pancov worked for our company he had an access to email boxes and source codes of all the products. We also detected hidden user on our server with administrator rights and remote desktop. The user was created on that very date when Gregory Pancov left our company and user activity took place from Gregory Pancov’s home personal computer during some time.
You can see our websites history at http://www.archive.org/
  • EAUpload created after our PowUpload release.
  • EAFlashUpload created after our MultiPowUpload release.
  • Easyalgo announce about their EAJavaUpload. Is it clone of our JavaPowUpload will be?
  • At 2007 Gregory Pancov transferred webfilemanager.net domain (Element-IT domain for SEO purpose) to his name (screenshot). And each year updates it. Seems it is for web file manager -clone of our HTTP Commander.

Easyalgo stolen not only ideas, they used our source code.

We found that EAUpload created based on PowUpload code. To check this you can compare EAUpload and our PowUpload controls code:
  • Download .Net reflector http://www.red-gate.com/products/reflector/
  • Download EAUpload first version (that not obfuscated). Find at search engines “EasyAlgo_EAUpload_Installer.zip” and download any file dated 12 march 2008
  • Download our PowUpload here http://www.element-it.com/downloadfile.aspx?type=powinst
  • Look at the both controls, files created after installation and samples. Open both .dll at Reflector and look at the structure of classes, find functions like: IsUploadPage, GetUploadID, GetSaveName at PowUpload and compare with IsUploadPage, GetUploadID, GetQualifiedName at EAUpload.
You can see that code of EAUpload is based on PowUpload but has deep changes to hide matching.

We are at law with Gregory Pancov (EasyAlgo)

We are at law with Gregory Pancov (EasyAlgo) under 3 articles of the Criminal Code: infringement of copyright, commercial information stealing and illegal access. We also at law with developer Sergey Kokarev who helped Gregory Pancov to modify our code. If you are interested in this legal case between our company and Gregory Pancov we may provide this information on demand or you can subscribe to our company news

We regret that we have to look backward over earlier mistakes. On the other hand the whole team of Element-IT are glad that since October 2009 nobody has been holding back such a significant part of Business as Search Engine Optimization and Marketing. Easyalgoeauploadeaflashupload

EasyAlgo official answer (5.05.2010)

5.05.2010 we found Easyalgo answer. You can find it at Gregory Pancov website or here.
His EULA don't allow you to view that code is similar. Genius!
By the way, this EULA was created by Pancov at the Element-IT company. At the same EAUpload distribution package dated 12 march 2008 you can find file LicenseAgreement.rtf. Look at document meta data at MS Word (File->Properties>Summary tab) or view scheenshot.
After we found EasyAlgo we understand that a lot of work related to easyalgo created by Pancov inside office when he worked at our company.

Since we don't got EasyAlgo agreement to discontinue to use stolen products and copy all other we want to say the developer Sergey Kokarev (who helps EasyAlgo to modify our code):
Mr. Sergey Kokarev, if the new clones of our production will be created by you then be sure:
1) We will start the law process immediately with you under article 146 (infringement of copyright).
2) Your current employer (Yaroslavl and Moscow branch of Plc RZHD) will know about the facts of your work under own projects inside their office and the stealing our code.
